In 1997, Patek Philippe launched a product on the market which, for the maison, was nothing short of revolutionary, the reference 5060A “Aquanaut”. An event which leads to a Patek Philippe timepiece being offered with a rubber strap for the first time in history. In 2011, the Aquanaut model was presented with a complication, thus marking the birth of the reference 5164 A-001 Travel Time. Hidden beneath the hour sphere is a second skeletonized sphere that can be set to indicate the second time zone. To make interpretation easier, two windows are added which, with a chromatic change, indicate day and night in the two time zones.
There is one relationship that has been around forever and longer than most. The one from Patek and Tiffany. Most interestingly, Tiffany is the only retailer in the world where Patek still allows co-branding to take place.
Today, Tiffany-branded Patek watches have an appeal to collectors based on this strong historical connection.
