The Rolex Explorer was first introduced in 1953. Initially, it was developed only for professional use as a prototype watch. One of the rarest and earliest examples of the “Explorer” model is the reference 6150 also called the “Pre-Explorer” since it did not carry the famous “Explorer” designation on the dial.
In 1971 was introduced the Rolex Explorer II with the goal to provide a versatile and reliable tool to explorers. Characterized by the luminous 24-h hand that can glow under any light.
