Description

Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 3970ER – Argentè Dial – Extract from the Archives

Considered as Patek Philippe's most important watch of the 1990s, the reference 3970 is the heir to the 2499 and even before that to the famous and rare 1518. Watch produced in four precious metals: yellow gold, white gold, rose gold and platinum .

The official name is 3970E. “E” stands for “etanche” (waterproof in French) and refers to the screw-down case back introduced with the second series of the 3970.

The Argentè dial is very balanced, although a large amount of information is displayed on it. The counter at 3 o'clock combines the leap year indicator and the 30-minute counter of the chronograph. At 9 o'clock there is a subsecond and 24-hour (or day-night) display. The moon phase and date are visible in the counter at 6 o'clock. Finally, the day of the week and month are displayed in two windows at 12 o'clock. The dial surface has been kept absolutely perfect and clean. The strap is in brown alligator leather and the pin clasp in 18Kt rose gold Patek Philippe.

The current Patek Philippe reference 3970ER has the following characteristics:

18K Rose Gold case and sapphire glass case back

Deployment “Calatrava Cross” in 18K Rose Gold
