PATEK PHILIPPE 5131R “WORLD HOURS” – 5131R-001 – CLOISONNE' ENAMEL DIAL – FULL SET
The “World Hours” model is closely associated with Patek Philippe and is one of the house's signature complications. Based on the elegant solution of the famous watchmaker Louis Cottier (1894-1996), Patek launched the reference 1415 in 1939, their first world time (Heures Universelles) wristwatch.
Since 1965 and therefore for more than 35 years, the complication had disappeared from the maison's offering. So, in 2000, Patek Philippe decided to bring the much-loved World Time complication back to life by returning to offer collectors a wide range of refined World Time wristwatches.
Introduced in 2000, the Patek Philippe ref. 5110 was the first mass-produced world time reference, and also the first after the legendary ref. 2523. It has brought a visible evolution compared to the ref. 2523 using a pusher at 10 o'clock to set the local city in place of the famous second crown. It also made the switch from a hand-wound movement to an automatic one.
The reference 5131 features the ingenious registered and exclusive mechanism that is mounted exclusively on all Patek Philippe World Hours. This special referena is embellished by the workmanship found in the center of the dial made with a cloisonnè-enamel motif, further embellished with brushstrokes of enamel and gold flakes depicting the two Americas and Asia.
A work of extreme finesse and craftsmanship handed down over time. The World Time Ref. 5131, comes housed in a Calatrava-style case in rose gold.
The Patek Philippe reference 5131R watch with enamel dial is presented with the following features:
18K rose gold case
Enamelled dial depicting the two Americas and Asia
Alligator leather bracelet with Deployant
