In 1963, Rolex launched the first Cosmograph model, which marked the beginning of a must-have among collectors. The Rolex Daytona Ref. 6240 was produced in the 1960s, specifically from 1965 to 1969. It was the first Daytona model to feature the "chanfrein of the spheres", which refers to the modification of the area around the chronograph counters to make it more spacious and rounded. One of the most recognisable features of Ref. 6240 is the black Bakelite bezel with tachymeter scale. This tachymeter scale has been engraved on the bezel, providing an additional function for measuring average speed.
