First introduced in 1945 to commemorate the company's 40th anniversary, the Datejust is one of the oldest collections of Rolex watches still in production today. While the date function has become standard on most contemporary watches, the Rolex Datejust was the world's first self-winding wristwatch to feature a date window that automatically changed at the stroke of midnight. While this functionality may now seem somewhat common, it was the Datejust that set the standard for how a date complication works on a wristwatch.
